Program Overview

This educational series on the management inpatient hyperglycemia is designed to assist hospital administrators and clinicians apply the lessons learned from all clinical studies, evaluation successful programs and share best practices, and identify safety concerns in order to provide effective and safe glycemic control to hospitalized patients.

Educational Objectives

  • Implement safe and effective insulin therapy for inpatients with hyperglycemia
  • Establish or revise glycemic targets in line with current evidence
  • Implement strategies for appropriate transition to/from IV to SC insulin therapy
  • Utilize your unique role in the multidisciplinary care team to support the safe and effective use of insulin
  • Provide accurate and appropriate counsel as part of the treatment team
  • Provide appropriate care and counsel for patients and their families

Target Audience

Primary care providers including MDs, DOs, NPs, PAs, RNs, CDEs, Pharmacists and other interested health care providers.
